Thank you for your email. As my Administration continues to strengthen our Nation's military, I am proud to proclaim today as Armed Forces Day.
There is no fighting force that rivals that of the United States Military. The precious liberties enjoyed by all citizens are possible because, every day without exception, our Armed Forces relentlessly and tirelessly carry out the critical mission of protecting our country.
As President, I am continuing to take steps to restore our Nation’s military might. Earlier this year, I signed legislation into law that provides nearly $700 billion in funding for national defense, the largest level in 15 years. This funding will go toward increasing our military’s capacity and readiness, as well as a 2.4 percent pay raise for our troops—the largest pay raise in eight years for our men and women in uniform.
My Administration is committed to supporting the extraordinary men and women who defend our Nation’s freedom with valor and distinction in all branches of the military.
